Airtime is a Community Discussion group, to discuss the big things that can be hard to bring into casual conversation. These issues have big effects on our day to day lives, relationships and on our community, so come along and let’s talk about the things we never talk about!

To suggest ‘we would rather talk about sex than money’ often provokes nervous laughter of agreement. It is perhaps the ultimate taboo in ‘polite British society’. What is so troubling about our relationship to it, that we must conceal it? Why is ‘splitting the bill’ so fraught? Why are some people always the first to ‘buy a round’? The connection between our patterns with money and feelings of personal worth, value, power, security and love are all well documented. In a society where half of the world’s net worth is owned by the richest 1% how can we conceive of equality?
