The MMI is a registered charity with the mission of being for the benefit of all in the community. We aim to keep our prices as low as possible to ensure that as many people as possible can access our facilities and services.
Unfortunately, this has meant the recent cost of living price increases have hit us hard and we are currently facing serious financial difficulties.
We need the help and generosity of our community.

Why we need your help
The MMI has always been an expensive building to run. It's a large old building with high maintenance and running costs. But in recent years these costs have increased significantly.
In recent years, funding and grants have helped a lot but these are becoming harder and harder to secure and our bank reserves are running low.
Here are some numbers:
Electricity bills
- Year end 2023 - average £505 per month
- Year end 2024 - average £829 per month
- Year end 2025 - average £1384 per month
- This year so far - average £1920 per month
- This is an increase of nearly £17,000 per year in 3 years!
Water bills
- Year end 2024 - average £172 per month
- 2025 - average £443 per month
- An increase of £3250 per year
