Job Description: MMI Content Creator and Marketing Assistant
The hours may need to be worked flexibly across the week, with some time on site around events or key activities
Pay £13.45 per hour
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Content and Marketing Assistant to help promote the MMI’s activities, events and fundraising. The successful candidate will create engaging digital content that raises awareness of our services, increases attendance at events, encourages community involvement, and supports fundraising campaigns.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and making a positive local impact.
What you will be doing:
- Building positive relationships with staff, volunteers, hirers, performers, community groups and MMI users, helping to gather content and represent the MMI warmly and professionally.
- Working as part of a professional team.
- Creating engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
- Promoting weekly activities, workshops, classes, and community events.
- Working with the fundraising team to develop our fundraising campaign content including posters, videos, stories, and online appeals.
- Capturing photos and videos during events and activities.
- Designing simple graphics and promotional materials using tools such as Canva.
- Writing clear and engaging captions and community updates.
- Helping maintain the MMI’s website and online presence.
- Scheduling and managing social media posts including stories and reels.
- Responding to comments and messages where appropriate.
- Promote the MMI events in liaison with the Events Manager and Events Assistant.
- Monitor engagement and help grow the charity’s audience and visibility.
Skills & Experience
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Clear and friendly communication. Keen to represent the MMI within the St Agnes Community.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms.
- Basic photography and video editing skills.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working closely with a small team, volunteers, and community groups. Flexible and happy to support others where needed.
- Health and Safety Awareness, willingness to follow and uphold MMI policies and procedures.
Desirable:
- Experience working with charities, community groups, or not-for-profit organisations.
- Knowledge of Canva.
- Understanding of social media analytics and audience engagement.
- Experience with fundraising or event promotion.

- Passionate about supporting local people and community initiatives.

- Comfortable engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and follow guidance from Managers.
